NİLGÜN KARA

Nilgün KARA, born in 1985 in Istanbul, completed her education in the same city. She began photography through her passion for drawing. At first, her main focus was not only on portraits and social issues but also on minimalist nature photography, which has become an essential part of her artistic work. The primary component of her art can be described as an “anxiety of aesthetics.” Her shots, created using techniques such as long exposure and high-key photography, convey peace, stillness, and simplicity to the viewer. By combining her drawing skills with photography, Nilgün Kara produces extraordinary compositions of nature, ultimately developing a unique personal style that blends studio and nature photography.
